ooo, hey thats a good one. thats a dodge 205, gear to gear divorced transfer case. super hard to find in just about any shape. already got one kicking around in the yard though.
but not THE one that i am hunting. the specific one that i am hunting, is a 203. specifically a 203 out from behind a truck manual transmission. the 4 speed has its own specific trans to 203 transfer case adapter, and has to have a specific spline count to match the manual transmission. it easier to find hens teeth.
i have been finding that it is probably cheaper to find a whole truck.
nice find though........

You know what? I was searching tires, 205/70/15 and I left the 5 of the end and somehow, this disassembled transfer case came up, random-like. And I thought of your project. I has
zero
idea that it might actually work. I assumed it was a crack-price deal...

no, thats not a bad price on one, disassembled and all. those transfer cases are made of very nearly unobtanium. they were about a 3 or 4 year only deal, and only came under dodges. those dodge guys are willing to pay stupid money for them. and not without reason. you can put pretty much any transmission you want up ahead of it(because its divorced(separated from the trans by a driveshaft)). the 205 is one of the more stout transfer case designs too......np all the way. any progress on the van start up prep?......

I bought wheels for it at the swap meet, but that’s about it. Still sitting out there wrapped up. Did you see my Turlock Swap Meet posts?

nice. i gave up on trim bits a long while back. they always end up loose and rattling, or the tire shop guy separates them, and “forgets” to give back a ring. or one gets swiped at a gas station. SO, these days, i run the nicest bare rims i can find, stress free, worry free.
